This is not a topic that is new to YA, however this story is one that the reader can empathize with, as it is portrayed in a manner that is gradual and well thought out. Parker can weave a story about abuse that can speak to the reader on so many levels. The Girl Who Fell is one of the most relatable and convincing books of the year.
